Ranger Rangefinders give hunters and shooters distance data needed to make accurate shots. Easy to use with a clean display and highly intuitive menu, the Rangers keep things simple, yet provide a high level of performance. Primary HCD (Horizontal Component Distance) mode displays an angle-compensated distance reading. Three reticle brightness settings match ambient light conditions. Scan Mode gives range readings as you pan across the landscape or track a moving animal. Adjustable, utility clip secures the unit to a belt, pocket, pack, or other flat-edged surface. Fully multi-coated lenses deliver optimal light transmission. O-ring sealed for waterproof performance. Ideal for gun hunters, target shooters and bowhunters, Ranger rangefinders put the odds of accurate down-range impacts in your favor.
Modes
HCD (Horizontal Component Distance)
HCD range display is intended to be the primary mode. The yardage number displayed is the critical horizontal component distance is corrected for shot angle and needs no extra user input. Use the HCD range mode in the following situations:
•Rifle shooting on level ground at any range.
•Rifle shooting out to ranges of 400 yards with moderate slopes (15 to 30 degrees) or out to ranges of 800 yards with mild slopes (less than 15 degrees).
•For all archery shooting.
Shooters simply use the appropriate level ground bullet drop and wind adjustment for the range displayed and shoot. Archers use the appropriate level ground sight pin for the range displayed and shoot.
LOS (Line of Sight)
LOS mode is intended for rifle shooters who are using slope correcting ballistic drop data cards, ballistic apps, or PDAs with ballistic programs and are shooting at distances beyond 500 yards and slopes greater than 15 degrees. Most shooters and archers will not need the LOS mode. The range number displayed in LOS mode is the actual line of sight range with no ballistic correction for slope.
Most of the commonly used ballistic devices can provide independent slope correction for bullet drop data and require actual line of sight range input. Using the LOS range when calculating bullet wind drifts under these steep slope/long range conditions will provide a higher degree of accuracy than using the HCD range. To use, simply input the LOS range number into the device or use the LOS range when referencing ballistic drop cards with slope correction.
Scan Feature
The Scan feature can be used to range moving targets or help range smaller targets on uniform backgrounds in either HCD or LOS modes.
Once powered up, press and hold the Measure button and scan laser back and forth, watching for changes in the yardage number as crosshairs move across the target object. A blinking ‘S’ display indicates Scan Ranging is activated.

The Ranger 1800 rangefinder is easy to use and features a clean, illuminated display and highly intuitive menu. The Ranger 1800 is capable of ranging up to 1,800 yards.
The primary HCD mode displays an angle compensated distance that is ideal for the majority of hunters and shooters. An advanced LOS mode provides you the option to calculate long distance, high angle shots with increased precision.
A scan feature gives continuous range readings as you pan across a landscape or track a moving target. Three brightness settings allow the display to stay visible in various light conditions.
Fully multi-coated lenses deliver optimal light transmission. Textured rubber armor provides a secure, non-slip grip. Water and fogproof performance keep the system operating in the harshest conditions.
The included neck lanyard and removable utility clip make the Ranger easy to pack and keep handy. Compatible with a tripod adapter, allowing use on a tripod or car window mount.
